It would be really nice if Demon's Souls had the Raw upgrade path and buffs like Sunlight Blade and some of the lightning offensive miracles, but that came in later Souls games. Stat-wise, other than Faith, you want to focus on having just enough strength and dex to wield the weapon you want to use (I like the claymore and mirdan hammer), 15 Intelligence for the MP to cast important miracles, and then put the rest in Vitality and Endurance.
